Help us build our new Nutcracker set! 

 

Radford University’s Department of Dance is the only program in Virginia that performs a classical Nutcracker ballet with a full live orchestra. After 20-plus years, our Nutcracker set is receiving the update it needs to mirror the high-caliber performances that transpire in front of it. The scenery for the entire production is being refashioned with a new design by Assistant Theatre Professor Jimmy Ray Ward in collaboration with Artistic Director and Associate Professor Inessa Plekhanova. This new set is being constructed entirely by Radford University School of Dance and Theatre staff and students. The new design is representative of Ms. Plekhanova’s choreographic vision of returning to the traditional European fairytale and fantasy setting.
